Read Naradiya Purana in English

Maharishi Narad himself said with his own mouth that this Narada Purana is one of the eighteen Puranas. Narada Purana is also called Vaishnava Purana. It is one of the 18 Puranas composed by Maharishi Vyasa. Narada Purana describes the worship of Lord Vishnu in detail. In this Purana, descriptions of education, Kalpa, grammar, mathematics, and verse-shastras are also found. Narada Purana is the only Purana in which the index of 18 Puranas is found.

introduction:-

The Narada Purana contains 207 chapters and 22,000 verses. Devarshi Narada himself had narrated to Maharishi Sanak of the four illustrious psychic sons (mind-born sons) of Brahma. Sanak, Sanandan, Sanatan and Sanat Kumar. Maha Muni Suta said this in ‘Naimisharanya’ in a huge assembly of twenty-six thousand sages under the leadership of Saunaka. Narada Purana is divided into two parts, the first part is the ‘Purva‘ part and the second part is the ‘Uttara‘ part.

Pre-Part:-

There are 125 chapters in this part of Narada Purana. This part of the Narada Purana contains four chapters detailing the origin of the universe, the application of mantras, rituals, and worship through fasts. The index of the eighteen Puranas and the number of verses of the Puranas are also mentioned in this part. The various stages of knowledge are described in this section. In this part of Narada Purana, historical tales, secret religious rituals, the nature of religion, and strange and eccentric stories show the importance of devotion, grammar, nirukta, astrology, mantra science, stories related to fasting dates of twelve months, etc.

Answer part:-

There are 82 chapters in this part of Narada Purana. In this part, the Vedas are divided into six parts. These organs are education, Kalpa, grammar, nirukta, verses, and astrology.

education:-
In this, there is mainly research on the method of pronunciation of vowels, letters, etc. Characteristics of verses, melody, tone, and unconsciousness, etc., sages of mantras, verses and introduction of deities, and ritualistic description of Ganesha worship are found in it.

Kalp:-
In the Kalpa, the subject of Havan, Yagya, rituals, etc. has been told. It also gives a description of the time calculation. A period of fourteen manvantaras, called one day of Brahma, is called the calculation of time.

Grammer:-
A detailed description of the form of words, their accomplishment, etc. have been given in the grammar.

Nirukta :-
In Nirukta the choice of words is considered. The rooting compound and yogic form of words have been explained in detail.

Astrology:-
In astrology, the knowledge of subjects like mathematics part, Jatak i.e. Hora skandha or the fruit of planets and constellations, the motion of planets, sun transition, etc. have been explained in a very good manner.

 

Verse:-

The description of the characteristics of Vedic and temporal verses etc. is found in the verses. These verses are considered to be the steps of the Vedas because without them there is no movement of the Vedas. In the Vedic verses, there are distinctions like Gayatri, Shambari and Atishambari, whereas in the worldly verses there are distinctions of ‘Matrik’ and ‘Varnik’.

Mantras of worship of Shiva and Kali are also found in Narada Purana. In this Purana, along with the worship of Vishnu, the law of worship of Rama is also found. Yet this Purana is called Vaishnava Purana only. Narada Purana should not be recited in front of such people who have committed cow slaughter and blasphemy. Because in the Narada Purana, finally cow slaughter and blasphemy are considered as great sins.
